5 Pictures of Tuesday: is my new section on this blog. Start this week, I am gonna share five pictures of my Tuesday and I hope each picture tells story for you. Enjoy this pictures below!

(1) On latest post I said that me and Mom run a new business, called jesrisoles. Based from the name, yes we make risoles! Mom loves to make this little yummy snack food, so she decided to make money from thing she loves to do hehehe. The picture above are fresh from the oven and ready to go! Yum!

 (2) Something vintage from our little kitchen. The red mug on the right, apparently 'lives' for 20 more years already. My grandma said she bought this red mug before Mom got married with Daddy. Mom is totally a keeper like me, isn't she? :P

(3) Random shoot of my laundry outside. The pink one is mine, my favorite casual blazer :*

(4) My dog's upside-down look. Tell me guys, is there anybody has a dog who likes to sleep like this? Well.. this dog makes me smile hekekek
Oh by the way, her name is Vika. Say hi!

(5) I deserved to have a selca too, right? Well I try to make this little guy (I mean.. girl) smile on the camera. When I looked at her, she tried to kiss me. So yeah it looks like this.

So this is the very first "5 Pictures of Tuesday" post, I hope you guys enjoy it. Sorry about the pictures, so random I know, but somehow I love it so much. Because as I said, each picture tells story, I hope you guys get it (:

Stay awesome!

My (dream) Job

Saturday, August 24, 2013

I grew up as a "banyak mau" kiddo. There are so many things I wanted. When I was 7, Mom let me studied piano (I play classic for almost 13 years and still not that good). Too many tears every time I went to my teacher's place, but I was still doing it at all. At that time, I was thinking maybe I want to be a professional pianist.

Then, when I was 10, my Sunday School teacher asked me to join the dance team, I agreed. I even danced in elementary school and made several performances. I was thinking again maybe I want to be a dancer when I grow up.

Later, I was in primary then high school, I started to make sure what exactly I like, what I want. I like to write a diary since elementary. I also shared a diary with several friends to write together. I haven't realized yet that I love writing this thing until I was in the "20 best young writers" category in a writing competition held by YKAI and UNICEF. That time, I was only 14.

But, I was still trying to seek another thing to do. I learned Photoshop things and made a bunch of graphics. I decided to take design for college major but I realized something really serious.. I can't draw by my hand. Just because you are good in Photoshop or another computer design, you can't make sure being a designer is a job that you want to be. Okay, lesson learned.

My real-life story began when I went to college with the major I never wanted (or even think about it). I studied Chinese Literature and Education. At the end of the college story, I got my bachelor's degree in education. I must be proud because the only reason I studied this major was I got a full scholarship. My parents was so happy, I made them proud. I am happy. The first year in college was totally killing me. And after arriving in the scariest scary part in college was writing a thesis. I love writing, but not this one. Writing a thesis in Chinese is really terrifying. But you don't know the feeling after you finished it and your lecture said, "congratulation you're passed." Four years in college is all about God's grace. But, I kept asking myself, "is this really what I want?"

Because I know my heart kept telling me there are something missing. Something that makes me alive.
Not alive like breathing, I mean.. alive

Then, after you graduated, the first task you have to be done is: find a job. According to my degree, the most possible job I can take is: teacher. But again my heart said no, maybe no teaching, I can do something else. I always want to work for magazine, since I love reading magazines, I can't lie to myself that I want a position in a magazine, something like:

Editor: Reggievia Santoso
Feature Writer: Reggievia Santoso
Fashion Reporter: Reggievia Santoso

or maybe..

Editor in Chief: Reggievia Santoso :P
But, my dream magazine company is in the capital city, I live in somewhere else right now, which means I have to give up for working in that company. I hate giving up for something I love, something I really passionate about. I sent my resumes to several companies. I don't know exactly why I sent to them, I just thinking about I should get a job, I should have my own allowance, I need experience. And I somehow believe that people said, "your first job is never your dream job." Haha. Tragic.

Thirty-one days have passed, none of the company reply to me (actually there's one, but no reply anymore). I told myself, "No, you don't need to work for a company. You can create your own job." My Mom happened to run a new business, so I decided to help her and we work together. If you ask me what am I doing right now, I proudly say I run a business with my family. This doesn't happen to be my dream job, but you know what, I can still do something I love to do. I still write and I take this blogging thing seriously. Every night I make blogging planning, I really think hard what to do for this blog. Blogging and writing is not an actual job for me, but they are something that has to be done. And I have a strong feeling with it, so.. it's my dream job.

A job is not always about working in a big company, wearing a suit every day, have a dragon-lady boss, etc. If you love doing painting in your room, you have a story to tell through it and the most likely part is someone pay your artworks; then, it's a job.

I talked much with my boyfriend about a dream job and he told me like, why you trying so hard to work in a company that you don't even know you will like it or not, why you don't just make your own dream job? So yeah people, this is the point why I am writing this long.

I don't know what will happen in the next year, two or five years. But I know I have to keep living in my dream job. A job that worth to do in my whole entire life. A job that makes me alive.

At the end, you are the one who can define your dream job. You are the one who exactly knows about what you really want to do in this life. Never stop to dream, dream bigger, it will help.

Good luck in seeking and living in your dream job.

Before I Sleep Last Night.

Tuesday, August 13, 2013

1. I'm gonna be twenty-two soon and I reaaaally want something magical happens.

2. I plan to make my own dream job. A little bit think about being an entrepreneur :P

3. Whenever I write, I want to inspire. But then these words came up to me: "Don't write because you're eager to inspire, write because you have something to say." -@lilymarp

4. So, I stop writing for wrong motivation. Every words you read here purely from my heart, I need to say it.

5. I start thinking about marriage. What? You're getting married? No. But hey, since the first I started dating with my boyfriend, our main goal is getting married. We've been together for 3 years, we are already in 20-something-age, so I think it's totally normal to start thinking about it.

6. Sometimes I find myself fear about future. Fear about my dreams, fear about passion, fear about my job, fear about myself.. but it's okay, God said. Jeremiah 29:11- keep in faith (:

7. Where are friends going?

8. This is a little secret. One of my favorite role model becomes prettier and brighter. I hope we can meet again. (cheesy boo!)

9. I should give up of fried-foods. And really have a heart to do workouts at least 3 times a week.

10. I also found some people choose to fight their dreams, and the others stop and quit.

Happy Tuesday and stay awesome! ♡

Room Tour | First ever vlog!

Sunday, August 11, 2013

My first vlog finally published!

As I said in the video, I always wanted to make a vlog, since I’ve watched lots of videos on Youtube. I think it’s gonna be fun to make one. It’s been more than 35 days since I moved in and surprisingly, I am getting used to the new life here. Change is good, right?

Why a room tour? Since I was in college, I lived in a dorm where I shared with three roommates. And whenever I came home, I also shared a room with my brothers. I miss own a bedroom. Thanks God, I got my bedroom back in our new house! I was busy everyday in the first week to decorate this room. It’s still kinda empty, the wall is too big and Mom doesn't allow me to use wallpaper. I need more pictures frame I guess, or other ideas maybe? Please let me know.

Some other things I didn’t mention in the video:
1. You can find most of my things are Hello Kitty. The question comes up, “are you a fan of this kitty cat?” The answer is: YES. 2. But, I don’t have a pink-themed bedroom since I love Kitty ((: 3. And you maybe ask why there is a pair of shoes on the bookcase? Well.. one of my best friend bought me that shoes, because she knows I can’t give up of sneakers. The fact is, both of the shoes are right side! I realized it when I was trying the shoes, and I was like, “what's the problem of this shoes?” I told my best friend at last and she just laughed and ended up crying. Haha. It’s okay, even I cannot wear it, but the shoes looks so cool on the bookcase. Problem solved! 4. My bookcase is still empty. My stuffs that I packed from Guangzhou hasn’t arriving yet. There will be dozen of books fulfill the bookcase I promise. Until they arrived, I am gonna show the updates of my bookcase.

Note: You may need a headset for helping you hear the video’s voice. I didn’t expect my voice is gonna be that low and sorry about my English (plus the accent) :P

So, that’s it! Sorry again about the quality, because I just use my pocket camera for filming, but the result is okay too for me. Thank you so much for watching the video and stay awesome!
