Tuesday, January 13, 2015

1. Having dinner with beloved family members in the dinning room. We share stories, we share laughs, we share ideas, we share love.
3. A cup of nice coffee every morning.
4. Sun for the day, stars for the night.
5. Warm and fluffy yellow duck to cuddle.
6. Night phone calls from dearest one: How was your day? Are you ready to sleep?
7. Knowing some people care you that much, maybe better than yourself.
8. Parents who sometimes like to argue, at the end they just love each other again. Reminds me that true loves are exist.
9. Books that stored on the shelf, so I don't have to worry what to read every time I have trouble of sleeping, instead of counting the sheeps.
10. A faith that God has given to me. Not because what I have done, but because He loves me in the first place.
11. Two hands to do my most favorite thing (maybe for a lifetime): writing.
12. Energy to do Zumba dance every Monday morning for 50 minutes.
13. People who keep coming back to make us fry more risoles for them in our store. Thank you.
14. Awesome people that don't know how to stop doing awesome things.
15. Learning how to live to the fullest is just to be in the present.
16. Have two brothers that always make your days richer. Three of us like to share every lesson that we have learned.
17. Learning some secrets about life: have a thankful heart is the only way to appreciate everything; give more doesn't make you poor; pray and love people who doesn't (really) like the way you are.
18. A friend who reminds you to drink plenty of mineral water every day because you drink too much caffeine.
19. Listening to your favorite song 10 times a day and you will never get tired of it.
20. I was made as what I am. I would spend my lives doing the good things that God had planned for me to do so. A new hope and a good future has given to me.

Monday Favorites #4

Monday, January 12, 2015

Happy Monday everyone! What's your plan for today? I went to the gym this morning and joined Zumba class for second time. I came home with awesomeeeee feeling! Seriously they said exercise gives you happy endorphins, I think they're absolutely right. Here some my favorite links today, I hope everyone of you have a good one. Stay awesome!

"Having a broken heart was the best and worst gift I've ever received", Diana said. She's happy after all.

They are talking about Starbucks' new drink: Flat White. I don't even know flat white isn't that popular in US. Flat white is popular when I was working in Starbucks. Later I knew, it was invented by Australians. Maybe that's why flat white always in every cafe's coffee menu, many Australians here in Bali. If you are not a latte person, I urge you to try flat white.

These beautiful quotes are soooo refreshing! A little reminder how we can enjoy a happy life by thanking God about His miracles in our every day life. Starting now, girls!

One of my 2015 resolution: change my perspective about healthy lifestyle.

I have my own trouble sleeping sometimes. Last Monday I got trouble sleeping, my brain couldn't stop working. I don't find my best solutions yet, maybe Anne's tips would help.

The Delicious Cake

Thursday, January 1, 2015

A daughter was telling her mother how everything was going wrong. "I am failing Algebra. My boyfriend just broke up with me, and my best friend is moving away," she wailed. Her mom listened patiently, and then asked, "I made a cake for dinner. Would you like a snack?" The girl grinned and said, "Sure, Mom. I love your cake." The mom smiled and asked, "How about some cooking oil?" The daughter look surprised at the offer and responded with a loud "Yuk!" The mom tried again, "How about some raw eggs?" With a look of confusion, the daughter said, "Gross, Mom!". With a smile, the mother offered, "Would you like some flour or maybe a cup of baking soda?" The daughter responded, "Mom, all of those things are gross!" The mother cut a piece of cake and placed it on plate with a fork. As she handed the delicious snack to her daughter, she explained, "Honey, all of those things seem bad when you think about eating them alone, but when they put together in right way, they make a delicious cake.
-"Can We Really Trust God", Girlfriends in God devotion

I love this short conversation between a mom with her little girl. I sometimes wonder how God works for me and my family. We often don't understand why He allows some difficult times into our life.

Suatu malam sebelum tidur, seperti biasa I got night phone call from Andreas. Saat itu aku nggak gitu fokus dengan apa yang dibicarakan because my mind took me somewhere else. Tanpa sadar saat dia lagi ngomong aku potong. He could say already that must be something wrong from my shaky voice. If I don't tell him then who else? Nggak beberapa menit kemudian tangis pun pecah. Long story short, I was telling him something that really personal about my life and what was just happening. I was battling with myself for almost five years. Ada satu masa di mana sempat ngerasa I'm totally useless and failed. Aku merasa nggak berkontribusi banyak buat keluarga. I know gaji nggak seberapa dan suara-suara nggak enak seperti, "Nggak salah kamu lulusan S1 luar negeri jadi tukang kopi?" pun sudah terbiasa dikonsumsi. Something in my past suddenly trying to knock my heart and mind.

I know everyone is dealing with different kind of life issues, yang bikin berbeda adalah reaksi masing-masing orang. Saat hampir jatuh di kegelapan, I finally saw the glimmer of light. There is no room for the past, we never get back to change it, we only can to do what's in present.

Sorry for a little bit gloomy post on the first day of 2015, I just want to tell about something that really matters. Only God can take your broken pieces into something beautiful, just like the cake. Sometimes He offers something that we think so gross and asks Him just let us enjoy the cake alone. Only Him who can put everything together in His way, our part is just to keep trusting Him and His love for us.

Let's make a promise in 2015: forgive your past, enjoy the process while we waiting for the delicious cake that God has prepared! Cheers for a new year, new hope and new dreams. Stay awesome my loves!
