Bali Homebound Pandemic Edition - Preambule

Disclaimer: keberangkatan Jakarta-Denpasar dengan pesawat ini dilakukan sebelum PPKM darurat Jawa-Bali diberlakukan (aku berangkat tanggal 10 Juni 2021). 

Ada beberapa alasan kenapa perjalanan pulang Bali kali ini menjadi sebuah perjalanan yang cukup menantang dan ribet.

Enaknya Tinggal di Bali dan Bogor

Waktu beberes navigasi menu di blog, aku baru ngeh ada kategori khusus tentang living in Bali, di mana isi tulisannya berupa cerita sehari-hari dan kegiatan jalan-jalan selama tinggal di Pulau Dewata (2013-2015). 

Di saat yang bersamaan, aku nemu tulisan lama tentang gimana rasanya jadi orang Bogor. Tulisan itu dibuat saat aku baru setahunan tinggal di Bogor. 

Kemudian aku pun berpikir, kayaknya seru, yaa, membahas pengalaman tinggal di dua tempat yang berbeda ini. Aku pun baru sadar juga bahwa belum pernah bercerita apa rasanya tinggal di Bali. Dan setelah empat tahun menjadi (istri) orang Bogor, pasti ada banyak hal yang dirasakan.

Setiap kali pulang ke Bali, biasanya aku dan Andreas nyolong waktu selama 1 jam untuk brunch date. Sementara si bocah ditinggal aman bareng Popo dan Kungkungnya di rumah.

Dalam postingan hari ini, tokoh utama dalam brunch date kali ini bukan kami berdua, melainkan Josh dan sang mama tercinta!

Bali Mini Travel Recommendation for Family

Bilangnya, sih, tiap pulang ke Bali bosen, nggak tahu mau ke mana lagi. Ujung-ujungnya, sampai di sana malah banyak tempat yang pengen dikunjungi. 

Kalo dulu daftar must-visit places aku pasti nggak jauh-jauh dari kafe/restoran hits. Taste makanan nggak terlalu diprioritaskan, sing penting eksis!

Jaman sekarang, masih ada nggak, sih, yang rajin hunting oleh-oleh dari sebuah tempat untuk dibawa pulang?

Diary of The Week #13: Melewati Nyepi 2018 tanpa internet, emang bisa?

Sejak pindah ke Bali tahun 2013, aku selalu penasaran dengan hari raya umat Hindu, yaitu Nyepi. 

Katanya, Nyepi itu dilewati dengan suasana yang benar-benar sepi dan nggak boleh keluar rumah. Satu pulau Bali akan gelap gulita dan umat Hindu diwajibkan untuk berdoa secara khusyuk di kediaman masing-masing. 

Tibalah kesempatan di mana aku bisa melewati Nyepi untuk pertama kalinya. Norak banget rasanya gelap-gelapan di dalam rumah. Setiap jendela atau pintu rumah yang memancarkan cahaya, kami tutup dengan koran atau kardus, supaya kalau kami menyalakan lampu nggak terlihat dari luar rumah. Soalnya, kalau sampai ketahuan menyalakan lampu, pecalang (polisi adat Bali) yang kebetulan sedang bertugas di depan rumah akan meminta kita untuk mematikan lampu.

Halo! Apa kabar kalian?

Nggak update blog maupun blogwalking selama seminggu, kayaknya ada yang hilang, deh. Merasa berhutang cerita ke kalian juga para pembaca blog ini. Padahal yang baca nggak banyak tapi sok dicariin, hahahaha. Bukan bermaksud geer, but I know some of you actually read this blog. So, terima kasih, ya (:

Sebenarnya banyak unfinished drafts yang nunggu di-post, tapi dua minggu belakangan ini rasanya mau duduk buka laptop untuk nulis aja kok nggak ada waktunya. Puji Tuhan, hari ini bisa 'nafas' sejenak, dan mumpung si bocah lagi asyik sama Kungkungnya, so I'm writing this blog post.

Aku belum sempat cerita banyak tentang edisi mudik (yang diperpanjang) kali ini. Banyak yang pengen diceritain, tapi saking banyaknya malah bingung gimana menyampaikannya.

Maka dari itu, aku rangkum aja semuanya dalam format Thankful List.

Waktu trip 'pulang kampung' ke Bali kemarin, kami iseng mampir ke Ayana Resort. Tujuannya, sih, nostalgia (halah). Sekalian pengen lihat Tresna Chapel yang udah direnovasi kayak apa sekarang. Terus sekalian check in, deh :P

Nggak tau kenapa, holiday season tahun ini seru banget. Liat feed Instagram dan Path para teman juga seru-seru amat liburannya. Rame-rame nge-post #summerholiday, #familytrip #beachtime, pokoknya everything about summer holiday. Walaupun nggak bener-bener liburan (soalnya tinggal di Bali tuh every day is holidayyyy *truestory*), tapi aku tetap mengosongkan 1-2 hari untuk full day jalan-jalan ke tempat yang belum aku pernah kunjungi.

Bali Pulina Agro Tourism

Just arrived from our exciting holiday plan and decided to post this as soon as possible! This morning we headed to Ubud, for visiting Luwak coffee plantation. Pertama kali tau tempat ini dari postingan blog-nya Sonia Eryka, she mentioned a place that we can see the plantation of Luwak coffee and tasting different flavors of coffee, that sounds nice already! So here we go for our first experience in Bali Pulina Agro Tourism!

Jujur banget nih, salah satu alasan aku ke Pulina, is because this place is kinda popular on Instagram. Aku coba search pake hashtags #balipulina, #balipulinaagrowisata, dan hasilnya banyak banget foto kece di tkp tersebut! Aku pernah baca di majalah Cleo, mereka melakukan survei terhadap 100 responden wanita soal update liburan di medsos, ada 57% responden ingin mengunjungi tempat liburan yang sedang populer di media sosial. So, aku fixed korban medsos banget yaaa, hahaha.

Life Updates

Hello people, how was your day? I just got back again from the town, to deal with some wedding things and other stuffs. So here I would like to share some my life updates. I know they are nothing for you to care about, but since it's my blog, I want to keep some personal things that I could look up some other days. If you got stumbled on this blog and reading this, I would like to say thanks, and for me you are the special one. Stay awesome!

1. Having a great time with Andreas's family. 

I had so much difficulties since the begininng when it comes to his family, especially with his parents. Since he is the young boy in the house, and his other brothers and sister have been married for years (and Andreas has keponakan already), it seems like everyone has their own expectations on his "future" wife. I put lots of pressure on myself, and speaking honestly, sometimes I found myself "trying" to be another person that they "wanted". After all, I am on my best when I just being myself, and I believe all they "wanted" from myself, it's myself. So guys, if anyone said to you "ambil hati mertua itu susah", it's true hahaha. But, it doesn't matter when you just being you. And I'm more than happy realising that they treat me as their part of family.

2. Got my perfect Sangjit dress and bridesmaids' dresses. 

I have been searching a perfect dress for my Sangjit day, which is I will be wearing the same dress after the holy matrimony in Bali. I thought it will be so much easier finding the dress than a wedding dress, well... the dress is "the dress", it is really so difficult to find. Until I discovered a store from Instagram and I asked Andreas to take me to the store. Lucky me, they have the dress that I needed. It fits me perfectly when I tried it on. Also I picked some dresses for my bridesmaids, and surprisingly they chose the same design at the same time hahaha. Can't wait for wearing my Sangjit dress and take pictures with my girls on the big day! 

3. One fine day in Bedugul. 

I will end this post with some pictures from our short getaway yesterday. You might ask, getaway on Monday? That sounds great, right? Hahaha. Since I lived in Bali, Bedugul is not a place that I choose for a short trip, because I believe I am more "anak pantai" than "anak gunung". But I guess, I'm starting to love Bedugul. You get fresh air, eye candies everywhere (you can see lots of green and clear sky), it is just so relaxing. Gladly one of my parents friend, who lives in Bedugul, invited us to visit her place. Seriously guys, I didn't expect her place is gonna be awesome! She gave us a home tour and showing us her fields, which she plants all kind of vegetables, fruits and flowers. We ended up brought some "hasil kebun" from her. Of course my Mom was the happiest one hahaha. I thanked God for another day that could spend with my dear family. 

Edisi Jalan-Jalan Random (Ubud & Uluwatu & Nusa Dua)

Sejak minggu lalu, hujan turun hampir setiap hari dan langit nggak secerah biasanya. Begitu hari ini nggak hujan, cuaca langsung berubah drastis, alias so hot, mennnn!

Mumpung pacar lagi berkunjung, jadilah kami trip ala-ala ke Ubud untuk makan dan ngopi santai. Ceritanya kami kepengen act like a local gitu di Ubud. Tapi penampilan kurang mendukung, tiap kali papasan dengan bli-bli yang duduk di pinggir jalan, malah dipanggil "Ni hao, miss. Hotel? Tour guide?". Terus, yang dikunjungi Bebek Bengil lagi Bebek bengil lagi. Kurang "turis" apalagi tuh?

Sisters Meet-Up in Bali

It's funny when I have my friends come to Bali for (their) holiday and they ask me to give a tour to some places, it turns to be my holiday too. This happened when my favorite girlfriend was here around two weeks ago. You guys probably guess who is she already huh? Yes, it's Miss Taniady!

Eat in Bali: Sundate Today at Bebek Bengil Ubud

I am always feeling excited about weekend. I will take a break from the routine and usually I will take my family out on Sunday after church. But for today, my mom has planned to have lunch at Bebek Bengil Ubud. You might often hear about this place because Bebek Bengil is one of must go place when you are in Bali. Bebek Bengil serves you an original taste of Balinese crispy duck, if you are not a really fan of duck, they have chicken meal on the menu. But since the duck is the main course here, so let's give it a try. Oh anyway, this was my second visit already.

Balangan Beach | Under the sun we met

Last week, I got chance to visit a beach on my Bali's Beaches List, Balangan Beach.

Balangan Beach located at southern part of Bali island, it takes around 40 minutes from Kuta. It's totally different from my favorite beach ever (I fell in love on my first step), but yet still gorgeous. I once read an article about this beach, they said it's almost feels like you are going to Raja Ampat (woww). There are not so much local tourists here, not yet maybe. Lots of surfers come here, the rest people were just enjoying the sun like me. Before I live in Bali, I am not so a beach girl (you know, wears bikini, sun bathing, put sunscreen, blabla). But it is really a regrettable thing if you don't try to love beach, since you live in an island that have best beaches in the world. Still not trying to wear bikini (hehe), I spend my time at the beach mostly for just relaxing, my eyes especially. You know the feeling when you surround yourself with so much blue things; the sky, the ocean, the wave. Believe it or not, seeing those things will boost your mood up. The sparkling white sands is another bonus. If you are not kinda a beach girl like me, bring your favorite book or magazine, rent the beach bench (mostly around 50,000IDR, and there is no hour limit!), enjoy your beach time.

It's really Monday again anyway. Writing this post makes me hope to back to the beach soon. I wish everyone have a great great day. Stay awesome!

2014 has been pretty nice for four days. Bali has been raining a lot these days, but thanks God we were still doing everything good right here. 

Andreas has been here since January first. He came along with his sister's family and we were having so much fun. Two days ago before we met his sister, we decided to have breakfast together. We both can't skip breakfast, so yeah this breakfast just for the two of us (:
