First Day of 2021
The Year of Ram
Thursday, February 19, 2015
Happy Chinese New Year for those who celebrate! This is our second time, spending Chinese New Year without our big family members, since we moved to Bali. It's weird feeling because here in Bali doesn't celebrate Lunar's Day, except for the local Chinese. But it's great and I feel blessed, I could spend time at home with family, enjoy our feast together and of course... receiving hóngbāo, a.k.a the red pockets!
Since the morning, we have been busy caliing our family and friends to greet them. We were so busy passing over our phone to say new year's wishes. My favorite part when I called my grandma. She always sounds cheerful and happy, asking how's everyone going. Back then before we move here, when it comes to Chinese New Year, I'm always looking forward to my grandma's cooking. Her speciality of course something made from pork, I totally forgot what it calls haha. But I hope next time I could taste her cooking again.
I hope everyone of you having a great time today. Once again, may the new year brings many good things and blessings to us. Stay awesome!
Favorite Things and Unseen 2014

It's only one day left until we greet 2015, I'm beyond excited for a new year! This year has been passed just like that, but I am so glad I am standing strong right here right now.
What do you guys plan to do?
Back From The Town
Monday, September 8, 2014
Hello my beautiful readers, are you still there? I just came back from the town, well actually I got back here since last Saturday. I booked my flight to Jakarta and stayed in Bogor (Andreas's hometown) for almost two weeks. There are so many things that I've done, these three little moments are my most favorite part: (1) Meeting Andreas's family again, which is very very nice. I still can remember how I met his family for the first time, around two years ago. Man, it was so damn awkward! Thank God after some trips we have been together, now I am getting closer with all of them. And this may sounds little bit cheesy, but it is so sweet when you are getting know more about your boyfriend from his family story. Hearing what Andreas usually did when he was a kid, or how his brothers always made pranks for him (and he always tried to take revenge but failed :P). Please telling me that I am blessed having them in my life (:
(2) Finally I met up with GBI GZ friends! It has been for a long time guys, I really miss them all! Despite of not-so-good-service from the cafe we went, we had a really great time. We talked lots, we shared lots, took some selfies and we made a little earlier birthday surprise for our dear friend, Sastika! She didn't have any idea that time haha. Your birthday has passed already but I hope we made you happy!
(3) I didn't tell about my coming to anybody, including my two best girl friends, Kina and Jessica. I did a little surprise for both of them and I really did a very good job hahaha. Their "damn what are you doing here" face is sooo priceless! I am so glad we finally reunited and yeah I miss you both already.
With my two best girlfriends
Okay, this blogpost is starting like a personal diary but whatever, because this is my blog and I am happy that the fact I am sitting in front of my laptop, blogging while watching TV on Monday. I hope you guys having a great Monday too. Stay awesome!
Pictures Perfect

Friday 13th
Friday, June 13, 2014
Hello everyone! I am bringing Friday's pictures in a wrap. Today was a very great day. One of my old friends from Guangzhou, Felly, came from Jakarta for her pre-wedding photoshoots and she asked me to help her and her fiancee to take more pictures for the pre-wedding photo collections. I never experienced before but I did my best haha. We visited some places, including Pandawa Beach, Ayana Resort, and then we visited some great places for our belly. There are some pictures are my favorites, I hope they will reveal them soon.
Anyway, speaking of places for our belly, we managed to try churros at Beachwalk. Not too bad and not too pricey. Go try with the dark chocolate dip. And we also went to Gusto, the most popular gelato in town! Seriously, for you guys who loves ice creams or gelatos, you have to try this. Snickers flavor is my favorite. And again, it's not too pricey, at all. It's only 20,000IDR/small cup and you will get two flavors in it. You can seat indoor or outdoor, free wi-fi so don't worry. So cozy, perfect for evening meeting or chit-chat time with friends. They also have coffee, maybe I will try next time.
It always feels so good meeting your old friends. We never met again since I was graduated last year. We really had a great time together. We talked lots of stuffs and shared some thoughts. Thank you so much Ci Felly and Ko Arnold for your time. Have a safe flight tomorrow! (:
Man, time flies really really fast. And it reminds me about other important works to do and I have morning shift tomorrow. Make sure you guys have a great Friday night, stay awesome!

A Fine Sunday Morning
Sunday, June 1, 2014
It was a fine Sunday morning.
I spent my time after church alone with Nicholas Sparks's "Safe Haven" and an iced coffee. I bought this book accidentally in a bookstore. I never read any books by Sparks honestly, so I'll give it a try. I am not talking about the book now (even I was rolling over on my bed because this book... is just too sweet!), maybe later.
The coffee shop was not that busy at all in the morning, I was totally alone upstairs. But little thing bothered me when they were keep playing those Balinese instrumental, which is not a thing usually they do. Maybe because they just celebrated Kuningan yesterday, so yeah. I tried to turn on my playlist to cover up, without an earphone and as you can guess it was completely failed. Lesson learned: always bring an earphone whenever you go out alone.
Well, a short post for today. I have my evening shift in few hours so I should get prepared. I will see you around later in my next post. Happy Sunday and have a great one. Stay awesome!
More Than We Deserve
Friday, May 23, 2014
"Huff, finally it's break time," she took off her apron and sipped a glass of refreshing iced black tea."Are you just actually complaining?" suddenly one of her friend asked her. She raised her eyebrows."Me? Complaining?""Yes, I never heard you complain about something before. But you just had a heavy sigh."She laughed."I am not complaining anything. I am tired, I need a deep breath. A deep breath makes you feel good."
***
That was a short conversation between me and my friend at work, yesterday. I was pretty tired and plus, I was so hungry. When he noticed I just had a heavy breath, he misunderstood me that I was just complaining. The fun part when actually he said "I never heard you complain about something before".
Complaining is not my choice to do. Why I have to complain about doing a job that I love, why I have to complain about have a good health, why I have to complain about three-times-meals (even more than that!) everyday, why I have to complain about a blessed life?
Whenever I feel so miserable and start to complain about any kind of circumstances, I must know that I have more than I deserve already. I am nothing. God reminded me this morning that I am only made from dust. I am like a little wildflower, grows quickly, but when the hot wind blows, it dies. But because His love stands forever, He makes me become everything.
Today reminds me to always be joyful and enjoy everyday in my life. Complaining won't add any time in my life, it's only wasting my time. And please note, heavy sigh or take a deep breath are not a sign of complaining. They only make you feel better. Especially when you need some food. (:

Eat in Bali: One Fine Day at The Porch
Saturday, January 4, 2014
2014 has been pretty nice for four days. Bali has been raining a lot these days, but thanks God we were still doing everything good right here.
Andreas has been here since January first. He came along with his sister's family and we were having so much fun. Two days ago before we met his sister, we decided to have breakfast together. We both can't skip breakfast, so yeah this breakfast just for the two of us (:
Press Pause
Saturday, December 21, 2013
Sometimes, you need to press pause and look around your life. Sometimes, we forget how to enjoy the taste of this life. We are busy for doing nothing, we are trapped in a place while we thought the place probably the safe one. The truth is, all of us want to get out. Get out to see this life. Get out to feel our true heart. Get out to find our own happiness. After that, all of us are ready to press the play button again.
Happy weekend (:
Pandawa Beach | You are gonna fall in love
Monday, October 21, 2013
One day, if you come to Bali, you have to visit this place. Because guess what, you are gonna fall in love just like me.
This wonderful and beautiful beach called Pandawa Beach. I have been here two times in a week. Last Monday I came here with friends Andre. I heard from Mom and Dad before about Pandawa Beach, they said it's really beautiful and different from the other beaches in Bali. I was so curious and then the day after my friend took us here. Gosh, this beach looks hot! People come this place usually for relaxing, you can rent a couple seat, you can read a book, sunbathing (like most of people do!) or maybe sleeping. If you want to just take some beautiful pictures, it's okay too. And oh, you can also rent a canoe with your friends, bf/gf, or anybody, just for two person in one canoe. Romantic, isn't it? I told my boyfriend when he visits me back, we should do this :P Sadly, I don't have so much time to spend, so I was just enjoying the lucent sands and water.
The second time was just few days ago. I got a sudden job to be a guide plus translator for a Chinese tourist. She came Bali alone and she can't speak English either. When I knew we would come to Pandawa Beach again, I was extremely happy! I told Kelly (yes, Chinese people have an English name which they give to themselves) this is the most beautiful beach in Bali I ever knew. When we arrived, she just couldn't blinked an eye, her eyes rounding up and she ran to the beach happily. We spend some minutes here to enjoy the view. Kelly took some seaweeds and they look like a toy, it was so elastic. She wanted to take them home but at the end she decided to let them go again in the sea. Yeah, we cannot steal what belongs to the nature, kids!
Last week has been so hectic yet fun for me. I was tired but feel great too. Dad and little brother also my boyfriend came again, we spend quality time together, I got this job as a guide (even I am not an official tour guide) and knowing some new people. It's Monday again and back to work! A post without pictures absolutely nothing. Have a good Monday and stay awesome (:
Yes, this is her, Kelly!
I am not sure what supposed to call these, isn't it seaweed?
Six Elements of Heart
Friday, February 15, 2013
A challenging from Arriane following by her post here. Introducing you the six elements of our heart. We always have things to be grateful, excited, inspired, challenged , amazed and curious about.
I am...
GRATEFUL
for anything happens in my life. Awesome family (bonding time
with my brother during this holiday), good friends (had so much quality talk
with them, brainstorming also!) and inspiring boyfriend (yes, he is so
inspiring! Somehow I don’t even understand about what he thinks, but I think it’s
the way how he lives creative by his thoughts!). Thanks, Lord (:
EXCITED
about my very first “official” internship as a Chinese
Language teacher, at Pekanbaru (out from the city) in two days! I have a
morning flight on Sunday, so I will make sure I have a beauty sleep tomorrow
night. Oh, my Guangzhou best friend, Sastika is gonna be my partner too in this
internship. Wish us luck!
INSPIRED
by a young woman, whom apparently is the master franchise of
Bonchon Chicken in Indonesia! Check out her story here. Michelle shows us what creative means and everyone has a chance to be creative!
CHALLENGED
to become more healthier. Eat properly, rest properly, do exercises! I woke up early this morning to go to sport club, and swimming
with my brother and his girlfriend. I feel good today!
Also I’m challenged to learn how to dance “I Got Boy” by Girls’
Generation. I have one more month to learn, and I have a trainer! She’s my
friend, also my neighbor, and she’s a dancer. We have to manage our time, since
both of us are pretty busy. Once again, wish me luck!
Note for Arriane: Please, do this dance with your kpop
dancing fellas! :D
AMAZED
how I can stay alive, peacefully, in this cruel society. If
it’s not because by God’s grace, what is gonna be?
CURIOUS
When my final thesis is completed. The answer is only one: FOCUS. And… stay fit. I need a fit brain. Fit body. Fit mind. Fit laptop (I’ll make sure click the “save” button whenever I type my thesis and do files backup, before something bad happens…)

Now, I'm challenging you back to blog about it. You can also use the image by Arriane but make sure credit properly (we don't steal, right?) Good luck!

Life Under Berry(gram)
Thursday, October 18, 2012
I'm finally back for a little update!
Also, I made a new look for my blog, can you spot it? Yes, the new pink header! *clapping*

Thanks to Photoshop for helping me, since I don't have a special ability with Photoshop thing (when the last time I used this tool tho??), but it did a great job.
Anyway, we are almost halfway through the year. We are in the mid of October already, life is getting FASTER MAN. FASTER. There are so many things wait to be done, so let's focus on our major goals this year and no regrets in the end.
I just had a single trip to Hong Kong two days ago with Andreas. Yippie yay!. He came for two weeks to have some business things and a little rest from his work. Nice, fun, TIRED trip. We always love Hong Kong. Hong Kong is a magical place for me.
My favorite shot from the trip, what do you think?
the largest Forever 21 I've ever seen! It's located in Causeway Bay
I challenge myself to take some pictures with my Blackberry camera these days. Surprisingly, it's not that bad. And thanks again to Photoshop! It always makes my ordinary picture become an extraordinary one. I made a quote about Photoshop, sounds like: Anything possible if you believe in Photoshop. LOL.
Another batch from Berrygram (hahahaha yes I named it LMAO) and a short stories for each picture right here.
- 1) "Passion": Introducing my favorite perfume, given by the only one le boyfriend. He gave me this as a birthday present last year and he bought a new one again before I even finished the first bottle. I'm not a fan of perfume actually, but this one smells okay and since it was a present from my boyfriend, why should I complain? :P
- 2) It's a cheeseburger!: Cute doodles on one of McDonald's wall in 大沙头 district.
- 3) Red Saturday: This is a random shot; everything was in red, and yeah... that's my Blackberry. It was taken by iPad if you wonder why my Blackberry was there :P
- 4) "10 more minutes...": Please be honest to me... whose favorite words is this, especially in the morning? *raise up your hand* hahaha. It's adorable, right? I always wanted to buy a sleeping mask but never find the nice one. Finally, I found this cute thing last week, bravo!
So, this is my life under the Berrygram (can I spell it like that from now? :D) and hope you guys have a wonderful day! Give you a really nice song from Planetshakers feat. Israel Houghton right here as a closing. Ciao!
Suddenly, Bali!

From Kuta beach with love ♥
Too bad this morning Bali was raining, so it's a little bit gloomy. But now the sun is coming out!
Hi everyone!
I'm so glad to tell to all of you that I'm in BALI right now! I just arrived safely here yesterday, my brother who lives here picked me up then I stay in his kos for four days until my parents come in next few days. Yap yap, I'm gonna have a family vacation here. Sounds great? I guess this will be a perfect summer holiday! Sorry for bad quality picture above, it was taken by my phone. My Mom is gonna bring the camera so I promise there will be many pictures I can share to you. I can't wait to explore Bali more and more, shopping and eat seafood! I miss Bali A LOT.
Anyway, I found a good read again from Cassandra's blog, she wrote about how the little random things can make us happy if you want, this is so true. Life is too short to complain, why don't you choose for happy instead?
Short post from me and I hope you guys enjoy your weekend. God bless and stay awesome!
Fast and Furious
Friday, August 12, 2011
Last Monday, I went to cinema to watch Transformer 3 with my boyfriend. He was craving a lot for this movie (oh, boys... :P). Glad that I've watched Transformer from the first sequel, so I didn't get lost for this movie. After watched, he can't stop to talk about the film, he told me that he didn't get some part of the movie. He said he will buy the DVD and he will watch over again from the first one (ps: he has the first and second DVD already). I just nodded my head then, he's exactly like my brother, Transformer and DVDs, hahaha!
We were kinda rushed that day for the ticket. The ticket was 01:00 PM and we bought it at 12:25 PM. We hadn't have lunch yet, so we run to the near restaurant in the mall for lunch. We were a little worried because the place where we ate was so crowded. We had chinese fast-food for our lunch, the place called "KungFu"- very popular in China. I never like to eat in this place if there's a certain condition like this. I think the price of the food is too expensive. But I'm pretty sure, Chinese people here loves to eat here.
So this is what I ordered. I don't know what it called, but my packet contains a plate of mushrooms&meats, a bowl of meat soup, vegetables and rice. Sorry for the blurry and bad caps, in hurry... rushed... and we had fast&furious on our lunch, hahaha!
Oh good news for all of you guys, I'M GONNA WATCH HARRY POTTER DH PART 2 TODAY! I'm so damn excited finally I will watch it! Well, I will get the 01:00 PM ticket again, so... I'M IN HURRY AGAIN (lol) And today it's Friday, happy weekend for you all! :D
Homemade Nasi Gila
Wednesday, August 3, 2011
Hey guys, sorry being missing for past few days. I was so deadly prepared for my piano exam (which is finally DONE today!). Quick story about the exam, it was well, although I did too much mistakes on the beginning when the examiner asked to play scales. I'm not a professional scales player, now I regret it a lot that I didn't focus on it in my entire life (well, in piano life lol). Now I will practice more for the preparation of the next graded exam. Anyway, thanks for those prayers from my dearest mom&dad, friends and you bb (:
So, back to the food challenge. I guess I'm still the bad blogger, I just couldn't finish it well. Pardon me ): I will try harder to finish the challenges until the end. I promise.
I will show you what I had for lunch for two days ago. Sastika asked me and my boyfriend to cook for lunch that day with the other friends too. We said yes and we got a task to buy all of cooking ingredients in the market. We're gonna make "Nasi Gila" which is in English "Freaky Rice"? XD
Well, "Nasi Gila" is quite popular in Indonesia such as like "nasi goreng tektek" or something of them. Something special from "Nasi Gila" is it tastes very spicy and the rice cooked separately with margarine and eggs. Sastika is so well to make this then she is the chef for that day. And the result is, VERY YUMMY! I told her to not cook too spicy for me, although she just put little chilies on my 'special' portion, I'm still sweating along while eating it, hahaha. But we had some fun anyway that afternoon, I want the other day we cook together again (:
Something Founded in HK (BONUS POST)
Thursday, July 21, 2011
I and my best friend just had 15 hours trip to Hongkong yesterday.
I was so excited about my first Hongkong visit! Sadly, I didn't have much time to enjoy every single place there. Probably next time!
I arrived at the guest house with my boyfriend to meet Sastika and we decided to have lunch first before we went to the church. We planned to have Burger King before I realized a small Chinese restaurant near the BK location. So we changed our plan from BK to this little place to eat lunch. And guess what, WE LOVE THIS PLACE! The food is amazing! We also happened to learn how to order our menu in Cantonese, the friendly lady taught us a quick lesson hahaha!
Hainan Boneless Chicken, my boyfriend's favorite!
and this what Sastika ordered, Chicken with Garlic Sauce Rice.
now turn me, I ordered Vietnamese Chicken Rice for myself.
Trust me, this is SOOOO GOOD.
